More to Syroco

You know the stuff! Lots of ornate, highly detailed, gold, plastic (usually) wall decor. I also sometimes refer to it as "gaudy". But there's more... and after learning some, I have more appreciation for it.

But first, here are some samples of it to refresh your memory:

Mid-Century or Americana?

Thats what I asked when needing to decide on a category for listing in My shop. The answer, of course, is BOTH!
The Shirley Temple Doll was manufactured by Ideal Novelty & Toy Company between 1958 - 1962.
She was one of the most popular dolls of her time. This doll (Ideal Doll / ST-12)  meaning, Shirley Temple- 12" tall, is worth quite a bit ($100.00 +) if she had all original clothing, including shoes and in "un-played with" condition.

In Recent light

With all the news going on right now, I thought I would list some vintage military items in my store.
As important the U.S. Military is, sometimes we need a little reflection. In this case, even recent events can trigger an appreciation for "vintage".
Recently,I picked up a couple of items that I considered interesting or unusual. It's not every day that you see this stuff...... vintage  military leggings, Film and Document Mailer, etc.

My favorite is this Military Film and Document Mailer. I think it could make an interesting way to carry "every day" items (it measures 10x10 so the size makes it easy).
